CURRY, Lawrence H., a Representative from Montgomery and Philadelphia Counties; born on February 21, 1936; graduated, Jenkintown High School, 1952; B.A., University of Pennsylvania, 1957; M.A., University of Pennsylvania, 1958; associate professor of American Civilization, University of the Arts, Philadelphia; adjunct professor, Acadia University, Montgomery County Community College, and Rutgers-Camden University; guest lecturer, Philadelphia Community College and Camden Community College; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1993 term; served 9 more consecutive terms; appointed, Task Force on Higher Education Funding (1994); appointed, Select Committee on Public Education Funding (2001-2002); appointed, co-chair, Select Committee Investigating the Integration of Human Rights Standards in Pennsylvania Laws and Policies (2002, 2004); not a candidate for reelection to the House (2012); elected, delegate, Democratic National Convention (2004); died, December 17, 2018 in Pennsylvania; interred, George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, Plymouth Meeting, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
