KLINGENSMITH, Marion C., a Representative from Fayette County; born in Bitner, Fayette County, Pa., June 26, 1919; graduated, South Brownsville High School; professional boxer; elected, mayor, Brownsville (1958-1969, 1992-1993); insurance sales; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1966; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1968); chief of police, Brownsville; athletic commissioner, Western Pennsylvania; elected, commissioner, Fayette County (1971-1983, 1987-1991); died, June 9, 1993 in Brownsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania; interred, LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
