DARDANELL, Edward L., a Representative from Allegheny County; born in Penn Hills, Allegheny County, Pa., September 23, 1923; attended, Penn Hills schools; A.B., public administration, University of Pittsburgh; first lieutenant, Combat Officer, 4th Infantry Division, United States Army (1943-1946, World War II; 1949, Korean Conflict; Purple Heart and Bronze Star Cluster recipient); served, United States Army Reserve (1946-1949); newspaper publisher, Dardanell Enterprises (Monroeville Times Express, Penn Hills Progress, Allegheny Valley Advance-Leader, among others); president and director, Penn Hills Chamber of Commerce; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1964 and 1966; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1968); commercial real estate developer; chair, board of trustees, LaRoche College; board of trustees, University of Pittsburgh; board of trustees, Forbes Health System; died, April 5, 2013 in Monroeville, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
