JONES, Samuel, a Representative from Berks and Schuylkill Counties; born, January 3, 1782 in Amity Township, Berks County, Pa.; major, 1st Regiment, 2nd Brigade, Pennsylvania Militia (1814, War of 1812); blacksmith; unsuccessful campaign, auditor, Berks County (1813); elected as an Old School candidate to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1820-1821 term; died, September 26, 1864 in Amity Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Gabriels Episcopal Church Cemetery, Douglassville, Berks County, Pennsylvania.
