PATTERSON, William, a Representative from Washington County; born, September 25, 1796 in Cross Creek Township, Washington County, Pa. brigadier general, Second Brigade, 14th Division, Pennsylvania Milita (1812, War of 1812); employed, fulling mill; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1828-1829, 1829-1830, 1830-1831, 1831-1832 and the 1833-1834 terms; elected, Speaker (1833-1834); engaged, farming and livestock; Presidential elector (1844); died, May 3, 1879 in Cross Creek Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania; interred, Cross Creek Cemetery, Cross Creek Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania.
