LEWELLEN, Thomas Jefferson, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born circa 1800 in New Jersey; proprietor, The Log Cabin, Wissahickon; elected, tax collector, Philadelphia County (1829): unsuccessful campaign, commissioner, Philadelphia County (1831); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1834-1835 and 1836-1837 terms; died, December 4, 1863 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, American Mechanics Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; removed to Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
