HUSTON, John, Jr., a Representative from Northampton, Pike and Wayne Counties; born, February 11, 1790 in Pennsylvania; colonel, 5th Battalion, Pennsylvania Militia (1814, War of 1812); farmer; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1834-1835 and 1835-1836 terms; trustee, Stroudsburg French Seminary (1839); president, Female Seminary at Stroudsburg (1841); died, December 1, 1860 in Stroud Township, Monroe County, Pennsylvania; interred, Shafer Schoolhouse Cemetery, Stroudsburg, Monroe County, Pennsylvania.
