James McKnight’s Company, 137th Regiment, Pennsylvania Militia (1814, War of 1812); farmer; contractor; elected, coroner, Crawford County (1812-1815); unsuccessful campaign, sheriff, Crawford County (1815); elected, sheriff, Crawford County (1818-1821, 1824-1827); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1834-1835 and 1836-1837 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1835, 1837); supervisor, French Creek feeder, Pennsylvania Canal (1839); died, April 4, 1856 in Randolph Township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania; interred, Brawley Cemetery, Randolph Township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania.
