HOFFMAN, Jacob, a Representative from Dauphin County; born, February 4, 1782 in Berrysburg, Lancaster County (now Dauphin County), Pa.; major, 1st Regiment, Pennsylvania Militia (War of 1812); farmer; unsuccessful campaign, director of the poor, Dauphin County (1811); elected as an Anti-Mason to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1829-1830 and 1833-1834 terms; died, February 2, 1862 in Berrysburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Peters Cemetery, Lykens Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
