SHARP, Joseph, a Representative from Chester County; born, May 5, 1770, London Grove Township, Chester County, Pa.; farmer; unsuccessful campaign, director of the poor, Chester County (1813); elected as a Federalist to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1815-1816, 1816-1817, 1817-1818 and 1818-1819 terms; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1831); died, November 7, 1847 in London Grove Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
