MILLER, Jacob Beeson, a Representative from Fayette County; born, February 21, 1799 in Uniontown, Fayette County, Pa.; served, Pennsylvania Militia (7 years); attorney (1821-1878); owner, the Pennsylvania Democrat (1827-1834); elected, delegate, National Anti-Masonic Convention (1831); elected as an Anti-Mason to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1834-1835 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1835); elected, delegate, State Democratic Whig Convention (1844); owner and editor, the American Standard (1867-1878); died, December 6, 1878 in Uniontown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
