STERN, Jerry A., a Representative from Bedford and Blair Counties; born in Roaring Spring, Blair County, Pa., January 11, 1955; graduated, Central High School, 1972; attended, Altoona School of Commerce; attended, The Pennsylvania State University; grocery store manager (1975-1982); deputy prothonotary, Blair County (1982-1989); elected, prothonotary and clerk of courts, Blair County (1989-1992); member, Blair County Republican Committee; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1993 term; reelected to serve 10 consecutive terms thereafter; elected, Minority Caucus Secretary (2007-2010); appointed, Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (2001-2006); appointed, Task Force on Commonwealth-Owned Lands (2002); appointed, Legislative Data Processing Center Commission (2009-2010); not a candidate for reelection to the House (2014).
