AURANDT, John Dietrich, a Representative from Huntingdon County; born, November 8, 1760 in Maiden Creek Township, Berks County, Pa.; served, 13th and 2nd Regiments, Pennsylvania Militia (1778-1781, Revolutionary War); miller, Weaver’s Mill, York County; farmer; minister, Dreisbach German Reformed Church, Union County (1801-1804); minister, Zion German Reformed Church, Huntingdon County (1804-1831); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1818-1819 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1819-1820 term; appointed, constable, Huntingdon County (1830-1831); died, April 24, 1831 in Alexandria, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania; interred, Shaffersville Cemetery, Shaffersville, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania.
