BANKS, William, a Representative from Indiana and Jefferson Counties; born, November 18, 1795 in Mifflin County, Pa.; lawyer (1825-1871); appointed, clerk of commissioners, Indiana County (1826); elected, prothonotary, Indiana County (1830); elected as an Anti-Mason to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1833-1834 term; reelected to the House as a Democrat for the 1834-1835 term; appointed, deputy attorney general, Indiana County (6 years); died, August 10, 1871 in Indiana, Indiana County, Pennsylvania; interred, Oakland Cometary and Mausoleum, Indiana, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.
