COXE, Edward D. a Representative from Philadelphia City; born, July 4, 1793 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; B.A., University of Pennsylvania, 1810; corporal, “State Fencibles,” Pennsylvania Militia (1814-1815, War of 1812); lawyer; unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1817); elected as a Federalist to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1818-1819 term; died, October 3, 1819 in Lower Dublin Township (now Philadelphia), Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Christ Church Burial Ground, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
