BEATTY, Francis Gibson, a Representative from Mercer County; born, May 8, 1789 in Westmoreland County, Pa.; served, One hundred and Thirty-fifth Pennsylvania Milita (War of 1812); farmer; elected, school director, Indiana Township, Mercer County (1834); elected as an Anti-Mason to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1836-1837 term; reelected to the House as a Whig for the 1837-1838 term; elected, vice-president, Democratic Anti-Masonic State Convention (1839); died, October 18, 1872 in Salem Township, Mercer County, Pennsylvania; interred, Bigler Cemetery, Hempfield Township, Mercer County, Pennsylvania.
