PILE, George, a Representative from Cambria and Somerset Counties; born, August 27, 1777 in Bedford County, Pennsylvania; auctioneer; farmer; appointed, clerk to the commissioners, Somerset County (1815-1818); elected, sheriff, Somerset County (1816-1819); appointed, justice of the peace, Somerset County (1820-1829); elected, delegate, State Democratic Convention (1823); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1827-1828 and 1828-1829 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1829-1830 term; died, July 1, 1848 in Somerset, Somerset County, Pennsylvania.
