MENDENHALL, William, a Representative from Delaware County; born, December 17, 1765 in Concord Township Chester County (now Delaware), Pennsylvania; Delaware County Commissioner (1808); unsuccessful campaign, sheriff, Delaware County (1813); unsuccessful campaign, director of the poor, Delaware County (1818); unsuccessful campaign, auditor, Delaware County (1822); elected as an Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1835-1836 term; justice of the peace, Aston Township (1836-1840); died, September 2, 1843 in Concord Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania; interred, Concord Friends Cemetery, Concord Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
