PLUMER, John Campbell, a Representative from Westmoreland County; born, November 28, 1788 in Lower Burrell, Westmoreland County, Pa.; sergeant, Light Dragoons, Pennsylvania Militia (1812-1813, War of 1812); served, 1st Brigade, 13th Division, Pennsylvania Militia (1814-1821); engaged, trading expeditions (1805-1810); appointed, justice of the peace (1819); grist miller (1820-1866); elected, delegate, Democratic State Convention (1828, 1851); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1830-1831 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1831-1832 session; incorporator, Robbstown Bridge Company (1831-1834); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1839-1842); elected, burgess, South Huntingdon (1847-1849); died, July 18, 1873 in West Newton, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania; interred, West Newton Cemetery, West Newton, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
