AUGHINBAUGH, Peter, a Representative from Franklin County; born, August 6, 1778 in Lancaster County, Pa.; proprietor, general store; elected as a Federalist to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1826-1827; steward, poor house, Adams County; steward, Pennsylvania College (now Gettysburg College) (1841-1845); died, April 15, 1857 in Pennsylvania; interred, Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg, Adams County, Pennsylvania.
