COX, John, a Representative from Franklin County; born, July 17, 1781 in Franklin County, Pa.; farmer; engaged, woolen goods manufacturing; elected, commissioner, Franklin County (1812-1814); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democratic-Republican for the 1814-1815 term; reelected as a Democrat to the House for the 1828-1829, 1829-1830 and 1830-1831 terms; died, March 6, 1854 in Southampton Township, Franklin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Lower Middle Spring Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Shippensburg, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.
