DECHERT, Peter Spyker, a Representative from Franklin County; born, September 8, 1796 in Chambersburg, Franklin County, Pa.; served, “Franklin Blues,” Pennsylvania Militia; elected, register and recorder, Franklin County (1818-1821); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1821-1822 and 1822-1823 term; died while in office, February 19, 1823 in Chambersburg, Franklin County, Pennsylvania.
