FLANAGAN, John, a Representative from Franklin County; born, May 10, 1780 in Frederick County, Md.; captain, Findlay’s Battalion, Pennsylvania Militia (1814, War of 1812); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1808, 1824); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1820, 1822); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1821-1822 term; appointed, prothonotary, Franklin County (1833-1836); reelected to the House for the 1836-1837 term; justice of the peace; died, May 18, 1845 in Franklin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Burn Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro, Franklin County, Pennsylvania.
