BOWMAN, John, a Representative from Columbia County; born, December 13, 1786 in Mount Bethel, Northampton County, Pa.; farmer; elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1837-1838 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1838); died, April 2, 1843 in Briar Creek, Columbia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Stone Methodist Church Cemetery, Berwick, Columbia County, Pennsylvania.
