KARNS, Francis, a Representative from Allegheny County; born, 1798 in Butler County, Pa.; elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1835-1836 and 1837-1838 terms; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1836-1837 term; chair, Allegheny County Anti-Masonic Convention (1840); died, September 14, 1866; interred, Prospect Cemetery, Brackenridge, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
