CARNAHAN, Alexander, a Representative from Allegheny County; born, November 11, 1789; colonel, Pennsylvania Militia (1812-1813, War of 1812); farmer; justice of the peace; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1836-1837 term; elected, commissioner, Allegheny County (1853); died, July 2, 1879 in Saint Clair Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Old Mount Lebanon Graveyard (now, Saint Clair Cemetery), Saint Clair Township (now, Mount Lebanon), Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
