SAY, Benjamin, Jr., a Representative from Philadelphia City; born, December 12, 1790 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; captain, Second Troop, Philadelphia Cavalry, Pennsylvania Militia (1813-1822, War of 1812); studied medicine; manager, Pennsylvania Brewery (1811-1812); firefighter and secretary, Philadelphia Hose Company (1813-1820); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1832-1833 term; died, May 18, 1836 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Say Family Burial Ground, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania (defunct).
