BLACK, Samuel, a Representative from Greene County; born, April 12, 1787 in Pennsylvania; farmer; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1823-1824 and 1824-1825 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House; appointed, associate judge, Greene County (1837-1843); died, September 21, 1846 in Greene County, Pennsylvania; interred, Zion German Lutheran Church Cemetery, Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania (defunct); removed to Harrisburg Cemetery, Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
