GORGAS, Solomon, a Representative from Cumberland County; born, January 22, 1764 in Ephrata, Lancaster County, Pa.; farmer; tall clock maker; store and hotel proprietor; elected, commissioner, Cumberland County (1818-1820); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1821-1822 and 1822-1823 terms; died, September 21, 1838 in Lower Allen Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Camp Hill Cemetery, Camp Hill, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.
