HIRST, Joseph, a Representative from Monroe and Northampton Counties; born, April 16, 1794 in Bath, Northampton County, Pa.; farmer; owner, Bath Hotel; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1836-1837 and 1837-1838 terms; appointed, justice of the peace, Bath; died, September 7, 1851 in Bath, Northampton County, Pennsylvania; interred, Green Mount Cemetery, Bath, Northampton County, Pennsylvania.
