JAMES, Dr. Robert Evan, a Representative from Monroe and Northampton Counties; born, September 26, 1802 in Line Lexington, Bucks County, Pa.; attended, New Britain Academy and Doylestown Academy; graduated, Jefferson Medical College; graduated, University of Pennsylvania; physician; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Stone Church, Northampton County (1833); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1838-1839 term; unsuccessful campaign, United States Congress (1843); died, August 13, 1860 in Centerville, Northampton County, Pennsylvania; interred, Old Union Cemetery, Stone Church, Northampton County, Pennsylvania.
