MALLERY, Garrick, a Representative from Luzerne and Susquehanna Counties; born, April 17, 1784 in Woodbury, Litchfield County, Ct.; attended, Litchfield Law School; graduated, Yale College, 1808; honorary LL.D., Lafayette College, 1840; lawyer (1811-1866); principal, Academy of Wilkes-Barre; elected as a Federalist to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1826-1827 and 1827-1828 terms; reelected to the House as a Democrat for the 1828-1829 and 1829-1830 terms; elected, burgess, Wilkes-Barre (1828-1829); director, Wyoming National Bank (1830-1831); gubernatorial appointee, president judge, third judicial district (1831-1836); master of chancery, Supreme Court of Pennsylvania; died, July 6, 1866 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Woodlands Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
