STECKEL, William A., a Representative from Lehigh County; born in Slatington, Lehigh County, Pa., November 12, 1921; graduated, Slatington High School, 1938; A.B., Dickinson College, 1942, LL.B., Dickinson School of Law (now Penn State Dickinson Law), 1944; attorney; solicitor, Northern Lehigh School District, Borough of Slatington, Slatington Borough Authority, Lowhill Township, Weisenberg Township and Heidelberg Township; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1954 and served 6 nonconsecutive terms (1955-1964, 1969-1970); unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the House (1966, 1970); died, December 21, 2002 in Slatington, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania.
