HUTZINGER, Samuel, a Representative from Schuylkill County; born, October 20, 1800 in Berks County, Pa.; served, Company B, 1st Regiment, Pennsylvania Militia (1844-1847, Mexican-American War); merchant; engaged, coal mining; elected, sheriff, Schuylkill County (1825-1827); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1830-1831, 1831-1832 and 1832-1833 terms; elected, register of wills, clerk of the Orphans’ Court and recorder, Schuylkill County (1833-1835); elected, prothonotary, Schuylkill County (1854-1856); died, August 8, 1867 in Pottsville, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania; interred, Odd Fellows Cemetery, Pottsville, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
