RAHN, George, a Representative from Berks and Schuylkill Counties; born, June 4, 1793 in Amity Township, Berks County, Pa.; teacher; engaged, mercantile business; elected, sheriff, Schuylkill County (1820, 1831); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives  for the 1824-1825, 1825-1826, 1826-1827, and 1827-1828 terms; appointed, deputy surveyor, Schuylkill County (1828); reelected to the House for the 1829-1830 term; prothonotary, Schuylkill County (appointed, 1834; elected, 1834-1837, 1842-1844); appointed, associate judge, Schuylkill County (1841); president, Farmer’s Bank of Schuylkill County (1845); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1845-1846); proprietor, White Swan Hotel, Philadelphia (1849); elected, burgess, Ashland, (1859); elected, associate judge, Schuylkill County (1859-1862); died, May 5, 1862 in Pottsville, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Orwigsburg, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
