RANEY, John D., a Representative from Beaver, Butler and Lawrence Counties; born, circa 1812 in Youngstown, Mahoning County, Oh.; miller; farmer; elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1853 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1854 term; elected, mayor, Youngstown, Oh. (1872-1873); justice of the peace; died, May 10, 1882 in Youngstown, Mahoning County, Ohio.
