MIDDLECOFF, David, a Representative from Adams County; born, 1794 in York County (now, Conewago Township, Adams County), Pa.; served, Adams County Volunteers, Pennsylvania Militia (1814, War of 1812); captain, Independent Cavalry Company, Pennsylvania Emergency Militia (1862, Civil War); merchant; elected as a Jackson Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1829-1830 term; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1833-1837); assistant clerk, Pennsylvania State Senate (1837-1838); farmer; trustee, Marshall College (now Franklin & Marshall College) (1847); died, October 30, 1876 in Orrstown, Franklin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg, Franklin County, Pennsylvania.
