ROSE, Aquilla, a Clerk from Philadelphia County; born, circa 1695 in England; sailor; typographer and printer; poet; Schuylkill River ferry operator; elected, Chief Clerk, Pennsylvania General Assembly (October 15, 1722 – June 25, 1723); died, June 25, 1723 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Friends Arch Street Meeting House Burial Ground, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
