HECKERT, George, a Clerk from Lancaster County; born, March of 1785 in Pennsylvania; lawyer; elected, Assistant Chief Clerk, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1809-1810); elected, Chief Clerk, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (December 7, 1810-December 8, 1814); elected, delegate, Democratic State Convention (1828); land conveyancer and surveyor; unsuccessful campaign, prothonotary, Lancaster County (1845); proprietor, the Lancaster Company, coal mine and land business, Northumberland County; died, December 2, 1873 in Shamokin, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Shamokin Cemetery, Shamokin, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.
