BENEDICT, Adin W., a Clerk from Huntingdon County; born, January 29, 1808 in Huntingdon County, Pa.; lawyer; publisher and editor, Huntingdon Journal (1835-1839); elected, county representative, State Democratic Convention (1838); deputy secretary, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (1850-1852); elected, Chief Clerk, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (January 4, 1855-January 1, 1856, January 6, 1864-April 28, 1867); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1863 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1864 term; died, April 28, 1867 in Huntingdon, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania; interred, Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania.
