Biography
YORKS, G. M., a Representative from Northumberland County; born in Pennsylvania; tax collector, Sunbury (1841-1842); unsuccessful campaign, sheriff, Northumberland County (1848); delegate, Northumberland County Democratic Convention (1849); elected, member and secretary, school board, Sunbury (1851-1852); elected, justice of the peace, Sunbury (1853-1854); elected as an Independent Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1855 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1856 term.
