PAGE, Samuel B., a Representative from Fayette and Westmoreland Counties; born, circa 1800 in Monmouth County, NJ; shoemaker and seller; elected, council, Bridgeport (1828-1829, 1849, 1863-1865); steamboat captain, the Savanna and the New England; elected, burgess, Bridgeport (1847-1848); grocery merchant; elected as an Independent American to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1855 term; elected, delegate, Union State Convention (1856); elected, school director, Bridgeport (1856, 1861); commissioner, Brownsville Gas Company (1857); farmer; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House as a Republican (1871); died, July 29, 1878 in Brownsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania; interred, Redstone Cemetery, Brownsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
