McCULLOUGH, James Clendennin, a Representative from Washington County; born, circa 1805 in Pigeon Creek, Washington County, Pa.; merchant; elected, council, Canonsburg (1829-1832, 1839); postmaster, United States Postal Service, Canonsburg; elected, burgess, Canonsburg (1840-1841); trustee, Jefferson College (1841-1865); elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for 1855 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1856 term; elected, justice of peace, Canonsburg; commissioner for Pennsylvania to resurvey to Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania borders (1863-1864); died, April 27, 1886 in Canonsburg, Washington County, Pennsylvania; interred, Chartiers Hill Cemetery, Canonsburg, Washington County, Pennsylvania.
