David Elliott, a Representative from Perry County; born, May 2, 1804 in Huntingdon County, Pa.; attended, Tuscarora Academy; cabinet maker (6 years); Methodist minister (1827-1840); farmer; appointed, revenue commissioner (1848); unsuccessful Democratic campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1849); elected as an Independent to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1852; elected, associate judge, Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas, Perry County (1859-1862); died, June 18, 1862 in Centre Township, Perry County, Pennsylvania.
