SKINNER, Smith, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, March 4, 1815 in Northern Liberties (now Philadelphia), Philadelphia County, Pa.; engaged, tin products manufacturing; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1851 and 1853 terms; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1852 term; deputy surveyor, Port of Philadelphia; inspector, United States Customs House, Philadelphia; elected, city council, Philadelphia (1886); died, June 23, 1892 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, West Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
