BELLIS, George, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, 1807 in Easton, Northampton County, Pa.; clerk; grocery and fish merchant, Kensington (now Philadelphia) (1847-1850); elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1849 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1850 term; tavern keeper (1851-1850); inn keeper (1860-1881); died, November 17, 1881 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Monument Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania (defunct); removed to Lawnview Cemetery, Rockledge, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
