MATHER, Henry, a Representative from Philadelphia County; colonel, Pennsylvania Militia; coal merchant; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1847 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1849 term; clerk to the commissioners, Port Richmond, Philadelphia County (1849); appointed, collector of outstanding debts, Port Richmond (1849); elected, commissioner, Port Richmond (1851); school director, Port Richmond (1851); inspector of elections, Port Richmond (1853).
