AMER, Joseph H., a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, 1816 in Pennsylvania; machinist and axle manufacturer, Amer and Clark; elected as a Nativist to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1845 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1846 term; elected, school director, Spring Garden (now Philadelphia) (1846-1847); co-owner, Vulcan Iron Works, Philadelphia; died, September 29, 1854 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Odd Fellows Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania (defunct); removed to Lawnview Cemetery, Rockledge, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
