LANING, Richard G., a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, 1801 in New Jersey; elected, commissioner, Northern Liberties (now Philadelphia) (1839-1840); elected, controller of the public schools, Northern Liberties (1841-1842); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1844 term; building painter; died, December 8, 1875 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Monument Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania (defunct); removed to Lawnview Memorial Park, Rockledge, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
