BACON, Richard, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, circa 1797 in New Jersey; house carpenter and cabinet maker; coffin maker and undertaker; salt measurer; assessor, Kensington (now Philadelphia) (1838); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1843 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1844 term; ship joiner; secretary, Kensington Democratic Committee; died, April 18, 1876 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
